Job Description Job Description Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, active DHH teaching certification, and 1 years Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. This full-time position is for a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing serving K-12 students within a school district in the Chattanooga area. The contract runs from early January through mid-May, aligning with the current school year calendar. The role requires on-site presence and involves providing specialized education and support to students with hearing impairments across multiple schools as assigned. Key Responsibilities: Deliver individualized instruction and support tailored to students who are deaf or hard of hearing. Follow students according to their schedules, ensuring continuity of services across multiple school settings. Collaborate with educational teams, families, and specialists to develop and implement appropriate learning plans. Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies to meet diverse needs. Maintain compliance with district policies and state regulations. Qualifications: Active Tennessee Department of Education certification in the area of Deaf/Hard of Hearing. Experience working with K-12 students who are deaf or hard of hearing preferred; experience may range from entry-level to advanced. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Ability to work full-time hours (37.5 hours per week) on-site without hybrid or remote options. Additional Details: Assignments may vary by school and caseload based on student schedules. Contract duration expected from January 5, 2026, through May 21, 2026. Location: Chattanooga area, Tennessee.
