The position requires travel between schools, ensuring services are delivered where needed. Key Responsibilities: Interpret spoken language into American Sign Language (ASL) and vice versa for students, teachers, and staff. Foster an inclusive classroom environment by enabling clear and accurate communication. Collaborate with educators and support staff to accommodate the needs of deaf and hard-of-hearing students. Travel between multiple school locations to provide on-site interpretation services. Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions. Desired Qualifications: Proficiency in American Sign Language and strong interpreting skills. Experience working in educational environments preferred. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Ability to travel reliably between schools within the Oakland area. Commitment to promoting accessibility and equal opportunity in education.
