Fabrication Shop - 1st Shift, 22-23hr About the Role We’re looking
for a detail?oriented Quality Control Technician to help maintain
the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency in our
Fabrication Shop. In this role, you’ll support daily operations
under the guidance of the Quality and Fabrication Supervisor,
ensuring that every product, process, and shipment meets our
expectations—and our customers’. This position is ideal for someone
who takes pride in precision, enjoys hands?on work, and thrives in
a fast?paced manufacturing environment. What You’ll Do Safety &
Shop Organization Support a safe, clean, and well?organized shop
environment Help enforce our Zero Accident Program (ZAP) Promote
consistent housekeeping and safe work practices Quality Control &
Inspection Ensure employees follow established SOPs Review sketches
and inspect/approve ADA?cap and riser nipples before bundling or
crating Inspect automated and manual welds for quality Measure
rolled and cut grooves to confirm tolerance compliance Inspect and
gauge threads Review inbound pipe loads for paint quality and
correct lengths Inspect outbound trucks for safety, accuracy, and
completeness of materials and tools Audit job crates to verify
correct materials are pulled and consolidated Inspect pipe bundles
for symmetry, rust, and overall quality Perform inbound inspections
on assigned materials and subcontracted hanger assemblies Inspect
riser assemblies to ensure proper tagging, capping, and wrapping
Assist in developing and improving quality processes across all
shop operations Identify non?conformances and generate QC reports
Document non?conforming materials with photos Support Root Cause
and Corrective Action (RCCA) efforts for internal quality issues
Waste Reduction Work with the team to reduce scrap and material
waste Help repurpose usable scrap Minimize stored or returned pipe,
riser nipples, and hangers Production Support Ensure the quality of
all materials received and shipped Assist with data collection for
downtime analysis Team & Personal Development Support team?building
efforts and participate in training initiatives What You Bring High
school diploma or GED required 5 years of manufacturing experience
preferred 2–5 years of quality assurance/quality control experience
preferred 2–5 years of blueprint reading experience preferred
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (especially Excel) is a plus
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Positive
attitude and professional demeanor Ability to think strategically
and make sound decisions Strong written and verbal communication
skills Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast?paced environment
Basic math and shop math skills Ability to work independently and
as part of a team Commitment to company values, integrity, and high
performance Language & Communication You must be able to
communicate effectively with employees at all levels, as well as
with customers, vendors, suppliers, and regulatory agencies.
Physical Requirements This role requires frequent standing,
walking, talking, hearing, lifting, pushing/pulling, stooping,
kneeling, crouching, and reaching. You must be able to use hands
and fingers for handling materials and tools. Occasional sitting,
climbing, or balancing may be required. You should be able to: Lift
up to 20 lbs occasionally and 10 lbs frequently Work in varied
environments (indoor/outdoor, hot/cold, dusty, humid, noisy, etc.)
Use PPE such as eye, hearing, respiratory, and skin protection
Operate shop machinery, hand tools, computers, and office equipment
Read and understand technical drawings, reports, and instructions
Write simple memos and technical reports Job Type & Location This
is a Contract to Hire position based out of BARBERTON, OH. Pay and
Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $22.00/hr.
