hours per week - Shift: 8 hours, days - Employment Type: Local
Contract Required: - Minimum 3 years previous experience - Previous
experience in a Trauma Level 1 facility - Cath Lab experience - BLS
(AHA) and ARRT certifications - High School Diploma or GED
equivalent. - Must maintain required hours of continuing medical
education. - ARRT certification in Radiography with advanced
registry in one of the following: - Cardiac-Interventional
Radiography (CI) - Vascular-Interventional Radiography (VI) -
Cardiovascular-Interventional Radiography (CV) Job Summary: - Under
the direction and supervision of a Radiologist, the Interventional
Radiologic Technologist performs specialized diagnostic procedures
of an invasive nature to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of
pathological conditions. - This position requires independent
judgment, technical expertise, and a commitment to patient care and
safety. Principal Duties and Responsibilities: - Explain exam
procedures to patients and prepare them both physically and
emotionally for the procedure. - Obtain relevant patient medical
history as necessary for procedure accuracy and safety. - Prepare
and administer prescribed contrast media, medications, and IV
solutions. - Review requisition and clinical information, analyze
anatomical structures, and ensure appropriate imaging setup and
protocol adherence. - Assist Radiologist in performing complex
interventional diagnostic procedures. - Prepare and maintain a
sterile field and required equipment including physiological
monitors, pressure injectors, and fluoroscopic/imaging systems. -
Monitor inventory and ensure availability of necessary supplies
(needles, catheters, etc.). - Monitor patient status pre-, intra-,
and post-procedure, ensuring comfort and safety throughout. -
Operate imaging equipment to obtain diagnostic quality images and
ensure proper documentation. - Train and mentor students and new
staff when assigned. - Follow all radiation safety principles,
including proper shielding and ALARA techniques. - Manage image
quality, post-processing, and image delivery to PACS; troubleshoot
exceptions as needed. - Maintain accuracy in Radiology Information
System (RIS), including timely study start, completion, and
documentation. - Collaborate with Radiologists to verify protocols
and ensure clarity before study execution. - Demonstrate consistent
professional behavior aligned with organizational standards (e.g.,
AIDET, communication, innovation, and cultural sensitivity). -
Perform and document quality assurance checks and comply with all
departmental protocols. - Exercise sound judgment in image
acquisition, patient positioning, and adherence to safety
