Job Description Description Seeking an Advanced Practice
Provider for the inpatient Thoracic Surgery floor service with
potential for OR time at UH Cleveland Medical Center. Work schedule
is Nights 7:00 pm-7:00 am, rotating weekends and holidays. Nurse
Practitioner must be Acute Care. New grads welcome to apply! /n /n
- Performs patient assessment and assigns diagnosis based on
recorded assessment data and current scientific and current
research /n - Establishes plan of care and implements interventions
in accordance with carepaths, protocols, and standards of care and
current research /n - Collaborates w/other health care providers in
an interdisciplinary approach to provide care to the patient and
family /n - Contributes to the educational development of staff,
patients, family and self /n - Demonstrates progressive leadership
and effective management /n - Provides education through role
modeling and in-services to meet identified learning needs and to
promote professionalism /n - Advances own professional development
through self-directed learning, continuing education and
participation in peer review /n - Initiates and maintains positive
relationships with patients/customers /n - Initiates and maintains
positive relationships with co-workers /n - Takes responsibility
for self-development and supports a learning environment /n -
Displays commitment to the mission of the hospital and its values

provided by the department during orientation. /n - Must abide by
all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health
Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of
Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address
appropriate use of PHI in the workplace. /n Qualifications
Education/Expertise: Nurse Practitioner: Nursing Doctorate or
Master of Science in Nursing with emphasis on clinical practice.
-or- Physician Assistant: Completion of a formal Physician
Assistant training from an accredited program with NCCPA
certification. /n Required Credentials, Licensure or Certification
(i.e. RN, RRT): Nurse Practitioner: Current RN license to practice
in Ohio Current APRN license to practice in Ohio -or- Physician
Assistant: NCCPA-certified PA (PA-C) or eligible to be certified.
Must meet all requirements of the Ohio State Medical Board for
Physician Assistants. Approval by the Ohio State Medical Board of
standard or supplemental physician assistant utilization plan and
supervision agreement between supervising physician and physician
assistant before beginning work as a PA. Must be credentialed by
University Hospitals of Cleveland credentialing office before
