Job Title: CT Technologist Profession: Technologist Specialty: CT Technology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 1-3 years preferred License: CRT-ARRT Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required Description: Under general supervision and in accordance with established policies and procedures, this position performs diagnostic CT exams utilizing appropriate imaging equipment. Technologists must demonstrate good clinical skills and provide the best possible images for interpretation while applying ALARA principles of radiation protection. This role follows the philosophy of Patient and Family Centered Care at all times. Verifies patient identification and physician order. Provides procedural information and education to the patient and family prior to each exam. Acquires an accurate patient history and documents it in the medical record. Performs CT and related patient care procedures using age-appropriate methods for the patient's physical ability and/or limitations. Places IVs as required for the injection of contrast media. Proficiently operates CT imaging equipment and performs necessary quality control and quality assurance testing. Monitors patients during procedures to ensure their safety. Ensures STAT requests are relayed to the radiologist in a timely manner. Ensures equipment is wiped down between patients and exam rooms are clean and properly stocked with linen and supplies. Accurately and efficiently uses hospital computer systems for verifying orders, viewing schedules, and sending information to PACS. Utilizes effective inter-departmental communication and participates with medical staff, management, technical, and support staff. Qualifications: Required: Associate's Degree from a Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) Accredited Radiography program. 1 year of relevant experience preferred. CRT-Radiologic Technologist Registration - ARRT required upon hire. CRT-Computerized Tomography (CT) required upon hire. CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) required upon hire.
