extreme precision, and the neurosurgery team at Cleveland Clinic
has years of training and experience in the most complex brain and
spine surgeries. The neurosurgery team uses state-of-the-art tools
to operate safely and, as often as possible, with minimally
invasive techniques. This team treats a wide range of conditions
affecting the brain and spine, including brain hematoma, cavernoma,
cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) leak, Chiari malformation, epilepsy,
facial pain, normal pressure hydrocephalus, pseudotumor cerebri,
skull base dehiscence and subdural hematoma. As Neurosurgery
Clinical Specialist, you will provide clinical guidance and product
support in real time during surgery. A caregiver in this position
works days from 7:00AM – 5:30PM, with an on-call requirement of
5:30PM – 7:00AM, 2-3 days per week, including holidays and
weekends. A caregiver who excels in this role will: - Provides
on-site consulting, guidance and assistance to physicians and
Operating Room personnel by evaluating options and problem-solving
during surgery in order to maximize efficiency and usage. -
Analyze, resolve, and repair product issues through detailed
analysis and utilization of engineering expertise. - Direct and
assist Radiology staff in performing necessary scans prior to
surgery. - Educate/train physicians and hospital personnel,
including OR staff, Radiology, Sterile Processing, Biomedical, and
Information Technologies staff, on the use of surgery related
products and services. - Works collaboratively with the Surgical
Services Manager to develop and conduct training programs for
hospital staff. - Provides feedback to Surgical Services Manager
and companies of product satisfaction, usage applications, and
opportunities for cost containment and process improvement. -
Utilizes expertise to contribute to the quality improvement process
by recommending product modifications to companies. - Attends
training with various companies of neurosurgical technologies to
maintain competency in role. - Works with the Specialty Services
Equipment Technician to routinely assess instrumentation for
completeness and functionality. - Keeps abreast of development
regarding neurosurgery technologies and reports these developments
to the Surgical Services Manager. Serves as a liaison between the
hospital and companies. - Assumes call responsibilities to meet
case needs. - Maintains applicable certification/licensure
including CPR certification. Minimum qualifications for the ideal
future caregiver include: - Bachelor's degree and one year of
experience in a technical support role (preferably in a healthcare
setting) OR High School Diploma/GED and three years relevant
clinical experience in a related field - Basic Life Support (BLS)
certification through the American Heart Association OR American
Red Cross - Proficient in the use of PC software applications
including Microsoft Office - Knowledge of surgical procedures,
anatomy and medical terminology Preferred qualifications for the
ideal future caregiver include: - Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical
Engineering, Biomechanical Engineering, Bioengineering, Clinical
Engineering, Computer Science or Nursing - Experience with Brainlab
- Experience in Neurosurgery field Physical Requirements: -
Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time; must
lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds. - Ability to assist
with positioning and transporting patients; e.g., pushing beds,
stretchers and wheelchairs. - Requires the ability to maneuver
equipment and motor coordination to operate equipment. Personal
Protective Equipment: - Follows Standard Precautions using personal
protective equipment. Pay Range Minimum hourly: $25.13 Maximum
hourly: $38.33 The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects
the anticipated range for new hires. A successful candidate’s
actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into
consideration such as the candidate’s work history, experience,
skill set and education. The pay range displayed does not include
any applicable pay practices (e.g., shift differentials, overtime,
