Job Description:
AER FMC Fuel Motion Control Systems is currently seeking a
qualified individual for the role of Magnetic Particle Inspector.
The position is available for either 1st or 3rd shift and is based
at our Euclid, OH facility.The hourly rate for this position is
$25.55 per hour.Please note that the salary information provided
above is a general guideline and may vary based on factors such as
candidate skills, experience, qualifications, market conditions,
and business considerations.Responsibilities:- Conduct visual and
dimensional inspections on various parts, ensuring compliance with
ANSI Y14-5 standards.- Perform Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI)
and Eddy Current Testing.- Train and assist others in becoming
certified inspectors.- Provide guidance and support to less
experienced inspectors in following proper operational procedures.-
Inclusion in the FAA safety sensitive roster.- Carry out 5S
initiatives and other assigned job-related duties as directed by
the supervisor.- Utilize gear checking equipment (M&M)
efficiently.- Set up, calibrate, and operate electronic equipment
such as Eddy Current, ensuring accurate evaluation of surface and
sub-surface flaws and discontinuities according to established
procedures.- Supervise training activities for MPI techniques,
particularly for Level I inspectors and trainees.- Collaborate with
level III personnel to enhance the MPI process, develop new
techniques, and incorporate the use of QQIs and gauss
mete/Teslameter as required.- Ensure proper setup and execution of
Mag Particle inspection processes, detecting, evaluating, and
reporting on quality aspects such as surface and sub-surface
defects, cracks, seams, and discontinuities in accordance with MIL
STD 1949 and MIL STD 410.- Apply chemical etching techniques for
part marking purposes and perform necessary marking tasks.- Utilize
basic math skills to make measurements, interpret complex
blueprints and geometric symbols, and identify inspection
requirements.- Conduct visual and dimensional inspections on parts
to ensure compliance and take appropriate action in case of
discrepancies.- Generate and maintain accurate documentation,
including lab reports, log books, records, etc., as required by
customers or MIL Specs.- Set up and operate a variety of standard
gauges, testing devices, and measurement instruments to determine
conformance.- Make decisions regarding appearance, fits, finish,
etc. when specific specifications are not available.- Utilize
mathematical calculations to determine sizes and ensure measuring
accuracy.- Pay close attention to assigned work stations, making
necessary observations related to dimensions, procedures, and
operations.- Accurately transfer details from individual device
folders to the master product documentation package.- Maintain lot
control (QCP 6.0), traceability, record keeping, log book entries,
NCRs (QCP 11.0), and associated documentation.- Assist in material
movement within the assigned work cell.- Perform minor maintenance
tasks on machines.- May be required to multitask and perform more
than one operation simultaneously as directed by the supervisor.-
May be tasked with internal burring operations within the
production cycle.Qualifications:Basic Qualifications:- Possession
of a High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.- At
least one (1) year of experience in Magnetic Particle Inspection
(MPI), including the use of mechanical gaging devices with variable
dimension readout capability.- Authorization to work in the United
States without the need for corporate sponsorship, both currently
and in the future.- This position requires handling of information
and access to hardware that is subject to the International Traffic
in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Applicants must meet the definition of
U.S. persons as specified in ITAR, i.e., U.S. Citizens, U.S.
Permanent Residents, Political Asylees, or Refugees.- No relocation
assistance is available for this position. Only candidates residing
within a 50-mile radius of Euclid, OH will be considered. Active
Duty Military Service members are exempt from the geographical
limitation.Skills:- Aim to become a certified MPI Level II
inspector within 12 months, subject to availability of training
programs.- If an employee fails the Level II MPI Certification,
they may have the opportunity to re-test after completing an
additional documented 200 hours of training or less, as determined
by the responsible level III.- Complete a training program approved
by Eaton within 30 days of employment.- Successfully pass a vision
