POSITION OBJECTIVEThe Center of Innovative Practices is home to a multi-disciplinary team of behavioral healthcare professionals in the areas of systems of care, child, youth and family mental health, substance abuse, trauma, and resilience, providing consultation and technical assistance at the local and state levels on evidence-based practices, program implementation, fidelity evaluation, and system of care policies and practices. The Center of Innovative Practices recently received a grant to become the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (OhioMHAS's) Child and Adolescent Behavioral Health Center of Excellence. Its goal is to achieve a widespread and sustainable system of care across Ohio. As part of that mission, the Professional Development Specialist will work to ensure that all system of care service providers know about and can access high quality professional development and training opportunities to improve outcomes and retention in the field. Target audiences include baseline entry positions through seasoned clinical providers and supervisors, program managers and administrators across the state of Ohio who are serving our highest need youth and family populations in programs like Wraparound, MRSS, IHBT, Continuum of Care, etc. We anticipate these trainings will serve more than 5,000 people per year. Some trainings will fulfill position requirements and others are designed to support the workforce currently in the field due to the extremely high levels of secondary traumatic stress. The Professional Development Specialist will work under limited supervision to create and execute a strategic outreach strategy to successfully reach identified constituencies and provide administrative management of Center of Innovative Practices and Child and Adolescent Behavioral Health Center of Excellence's professional development related functions and events. The specialist will function as a technical resource and advisor for both virtual and live training events, which may require traditional and non-traditional work hours and locations. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Develop and implement long- and short-term professional development department strategic planning goals to meet project deliverables in consultation with the leadership team. Develop workplans based on strategic goals. Monitor results and outputs key strategic activities and modify approaches as needed. Goals and workplans will focus on the design and execution of successful outreach strategies to deliver high quality professional development opportunities to system of care service providers in Ohio. In collaboration with University Marketing and Communications, create and execute strategic marketing and outreach plans over multiple media platforms to successfully connect with target audiences throughout the state and continually modify plans based on success rates and feedback. Designing a user-friendly website with the project's web developer and build and maintain a statewide training calendar. Serve as the primary contact for speakers and attendees to solve problems and ensure a high quality experience. Schedule and manage all logistics for all of the virtual and live professional development events across the state of Ohio. (35%) Compile, aggregate and analyze training data for reporting and process improvement on topics such as registration, licensure, location, and evaluation. Analyze data to identify process improvements to increase training user-ease and customer satisfaction and improve efficiencies. Implement data-driven improvements in consultation with leadership as needed. Create program evaluations to measure quality and effectiveness of professional development offerings. Gather attendance, testing, and evaluation data on all events through Qualtrics to evaluate programming successes. Based on those findings, measure success of professional development efforts and adjust programming, outreach strategies, platforms or methods as necessary to better reach goals. (20%) Ensure that all professional development participants receive the relevant Continuing Education approvals to maintain their certification by managing the Continuing Education process for all events including creating digital methods to request and receive Continuing Education credits. Liaise with trainers to execute Continuing Education approval process. (20%) Responsible for delivering a high quality user experience with professional development technical and web platforms. Manage, coach and troubleshoot software and other IT issues related to professional development activities on virtual presentation platforms, including Zoom, data management platforms, including Qualtrics, and coordinate and oversee Center of Innovative Practices listservs and electronic mass mail distribution (15%) Develop and implement department policies and procedures related to professional development workflow and activities. Interpret school and university policies and procedures pertaining to professional development and/or training administration and ensure compliance by all staff. Communicate any changes to policies and procedures to appropriate staff to ensure implementation (6%) NONESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Perform other duties as assigned (4%) CONTACTSDepartment: Frequent contact with the Child and Adolescent Behavioral Health Center of Excellence Professional Development Director, website developer, the Mandel School Continuing Education Unit team, Center of Innovative Practices / Child and Adolescent Behavioral Health Center of Excellence Trainers as needed to perform job duties. University: Minimal contact with employees and others connected to university offices.External: Frequent contact with professional development participants and potential participants, and trainers to perform job duties.Students: No student contact expected. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITYNone. QUALIFICATIONSExperience/Education: High School education and 5 years of relevant work experience OR Associate's and 3 years of experience OR Bachelor's degree and 1 year of experience required. Experience in a university or non-profit setting preferred. Experience developing and maintaining databases, experience and/or familiarity with professional development and/or systems of care, child, youth and family mental health, substance abuse, trauma, and resilience desirable. REQUIRED SKILLS Microsoft Office 365 Suite, Adobe, Qualtrics and other software competencies in order to efficiently create and design communication materials. Proficient with Zoom and other virtual platforms. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, both oral and written required. Ability to work independently. Ability to meet consistent attendance. Ability to interact with colleagues, supervisors and customers face to face. WORKING CONDITIONS Inherent in facilitating and coordinating virtual events during traditional and non-traditional work hours, this position will be flexible in location and include a mix of on site and work from home opportunities. The employee will use a computer mouse and keyboard to type.
Hybrid Eligibility


This position is eligible for hybrid work arrangement up to two remote days per week at the discretion of the department. New employees may begin a hybrid schedule upon approval from the supervisor, successful completion of an orientation period and signing the remote work checklist certification form.
