Job Description:
The Portage County Juvenile Detention Center is seeking a
part-time Cook to assist in the preparation and service of meals at
the Detention Center. The available position is part-time and will
consist of scheduled weekly hours, with additional hours available
based on need. Regularly assigned duties include: Prepare and cook
meals according to established menus and recipes. Serve meals in
accordance with portion and presentation standards. Wash dishes,
utensils, and kitchen equipment using proper sanitation procedures.
Clean and maintain kitchen surfaces, floors, and commercial
appliances to meet health and safety regulations. Follow all food
safety and sanitation guidelines as required by local health codes.
Monitor food inventory levels and notify the supervisor of
shortages or needs. Assist in receiving food and supply deliveries;
verify contents and report discrepancies. Stock shelves,
refrigerators, and storage areas in an organized and timely manner.
Maintain thorough and accurate production records, counts of meals
served, etc. as required by School Nutrition Programs. Supervise
resident volunteers. Support kitchen team with other duties as
assigned.
